The position is responsible for entering and monitoring purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet customer order requirements and maintain stock inventory levels.
Responsibilities include:
  • Enters purchase orders accurately, maintains and submits POs based on requisition requirements.
  • Carries out warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates purchase orders and delivery of materials with job site foremen, superintendent, or project management.
  • Negotiates best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on budget and schedule requirements.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, reliability, and distribution capabilities.
  • Resolve issues with deliveries, such as wrong materials or undelivered goods.
  • Review catalogs, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and Internet sites and consult with other department personnel to locate necessary goods and services.
Qualified candidates will have:
  • 4 to 8 years of purchasing experience preferably in the construction and/or electrical industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction products and terminology.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Spectrum software a plus.
  • Proven ability to negotiate prices while maintaining vendor relationships.
